SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 26: Chief Executive Officer Jhelum & Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTFRP), Saurabh Bhagat held a meeting with Director General, Fire & Emergency Services, Rajinder Kumar Hak today in order to shortlist the list of latest equipments to be procured for upgradation of Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) under the World Bank aided Project.
Director Disaster Management, Aamir Ali and other senior officers of JTFRP and F&ES were also present on the occasion.
Bhagat said that the Project has been initiated to ensure better mitigation and proactive response to natural disasters. A major portion of the funds under the World Bank project are earmarked for the capacity building of SDMA, SDRF and F&ES by augmenting their capacity and providing latest equipments and trainings to the personnel.
The rescue equipments shortlisted by F&ES, include Multipurpose Fire Tenders, Quick Response Vehicles, fully equipped with Fire Entry Suits and Breathing Apparatus for the rescuers, so that F&ES are enabled to be capable of handling all stages of disasters, including mitigation, preparedness and response.
